A hair transplant is not one single action. It is a sequence of decisions and technical stages, and different people may be responsible for each one.

Start with the treatment team, not the brand name

A clinic name, a doctor’s photograph and the person carrying out the procedure can be three different things. Ask for the full name and professional role of every person expected to participate on your treatment day.

Break the procedure into stages

Consultation and assessment

Who evaluates candidacy, medical history, hair-loss pattern and the donor area?

Hairline design and treatment plan

Who makes the design decisions, and who approves the number and distribution of grafts?

Extraction, channel opening and implantation

Ask who performs each stage rather than accepting a general answer such as ‘our medical team.’ The answer can differ between patients, dates and locations.

Get the answer in writing

Request the doctor’s name, the planned location and the division of responsibilities in the same written conversation as the proposed treatment. If the team may change, ask how and when you will be informed.
