Dr. Erkan Demirsoy is an Istanbul-based Chest Diseases specialist, founder of Armamed Hair Clinic and a hair-restoration physician whose official biography documents hair-surgery practice from 2000.
Demirsoy was born in Gaziantep in 1969 and studied at Gazi University Faculty of Medicine from 1987 to 1993. After medical graduation, he completed compulsory public service in Muş in 1994–1995 and in Pamukova, Adapazarı, in 1995–1996.
From 1996 to 2000 he completed specialty training at Heybeliada Chest Diseases and Chest Surgery Training and Research Hospital. The directory therefore records his formal specialty as Chest Diseases; hair restoration is a later area of surgical practice rather than the name of that residency specialty.
He began hair surgery at a private Istanbul clinic in 2000, joined ISHRS in 2003, received FUE training from Alex Ginzburg in 2004 and completed Ministry of Health Medical Aesthetic Application training in the same year.
Demirsoy founded Armamed in 2004. The clinic states that he initially performed FUT and changed to FUE in 2005, using either manual punch or micromotor extraction according to the case and patient preference.
